A Moostacle Course!

Posted · 13 Comments

We spent most of the day trapped in the house by two friendly bull moose who just don’t realize that next Fall, they may be dinner.  The mistake is, when they are babies they are so darn cute that we just ignore them…don’t try to scare them off. Well eventually they grow up and become, well, a bit intimidating at the front door.

What can I say, with a name like mine? Brown eyes run in the family. Haha

What a mug! Love them. I’ve wanted to see a live moose forever. It’s on the list!

How could something so doggone cute be so dangerous?

  4. What a sight to see!!! Natures beauty… You had a zoom lens right?

Those are great pictures! Great close ups.
I was reading Bill Bryson’s ‘A Walk in the Woods’ not long ago and he describes a moose in chapter 19. I can’t copy it down because 1. It’s a fairly long paragraph and 2. I don’t want BB to sue me for ignoring copywrite laws, but it is so funny!

I take it running outside and yelling “Shoo!” doesn’t work?

When my son and daughter in law lived in Anchorage, she called to let me know that while she was doing dishes each evening–she had a “moose audience” !!

I love all of these pictures, especially the one where you can see a little bit of the window in the picture. C’mon, he just wants someone to come play! I have never seen a moose in person, so I cannot even imagine what that must have been like. Thanks for sharing!

You don’t wanna go play with those fellows!! What are they munching on? It’s not standing hay, is it blackberry canes?

Looking at these pictures, I can understand why you chose to stay in the house. Are there anymore plants left around your house? 🙂

  12. Tash says:

Absolutely fantastic pictures. Too bad they stood guard and wouldn’t let you out of the house. Certainly gives you a good reason for a Sunday movie or arts and crafts day 🙂

  13. Doing your pruning, I see!
