Just Another Scenic Sunday 5-18-14

Driving through British Columbia and Yukon Territory is like breaking into a zoo after hours and tearing down the fences. Animals roam everywhere, seeming to prefer the middle of the Alcan highway.  It helps to break up the monotony of the 40 hours of driving it takes to make it from Seattle to the Alaskan border.

Almost missed the shot of this beautiful black wolf in Yukon Territory. Snapped this through the window, then stopped, got out of truck, lined up to take another shot, and he disappeared into the woods while I lined up. Fantastic.

  1. Is something wrong with the blog or have you just not updated it in a while? I tried to comment on the last one with the baby goats (are they all grown up now and have baby goats of their own? LOL ) but I couldn’t get to the comments. I miss the blog! 🙁

  2. Absolutely beautiful pictures. Looking forward to one day taking a trip to Alaska and the North West Territories.

  3. Thanks Keri I was waiting to see these after you said you had seen the black wolf, shame he did not oblige and wait for the close up shot! We have a small herd of Bison at Hamilton Zoo N Z. They are impressive animals and people are always amazed when I give them some hair/wool to feel, it is much softer and finer than expected
